It’s That Time of Year

I reach clarity

A quiet voice speaks to me

My mind’s eye opens

It’s that time of year again, for New Years resolutions. I have been making many changes in my life recently, but there is one that stands out to me that I really need to work on: meditation. I just started doing basic meditation recently, and it helps me focus, clears my head of negative energy, provides clarity, and helps me connect with something I don’t understand yet, and possibly never will. God? The universe? Collective consciousness? I don’t know, but it holds great wisdom.

Not that the other areas I’m seeking improvement in are unimportant, because they are very important. Meditation is my weakest area, and I see it as having the potential of being one of the most beneficial disciplines to develop, as it fosters growth in all areas of my life.

I am a male, mid thirties, diagnosed with severe bipolar I in 2004. It's a small part of my life, now. I love to write on my blog, where I am known simply as theothersid3. I have a special interest in bipolar, spirituality, philosophy, and recovery. During the day/night, I work in a factory. I spend time outside writing in my journals about many things. Some day, I hope I can help a lot of people who struggle with severe bipolar and their loved ones through what I write. This is an anonymous blog, and I'm reaching out to the world when I can, to strive for this goal of mine. My wife has enabled me to strive farther than I thought I ever could. I love you!

  1. I am proud of you! You are so very much headed in the right direction–keep going and trying, oh my gosh, there’s this yoga/meditation youtube audio video I absolutely love, but I don’t know if you could use this and meditate at the same time, everyone is different…but, here it is!

its called Relaxation Music-1 Hour Meditation Candle—and if nothing else, it will at least help you wind down, my friend!

    God bless you!

  2. Thanks for the video and the encouragement. I personally like the binaural beats / isochronic tones to help get me started with meditating. When I begin to arrive, I need things silent. This video is an example of these tones / beats and it has other sounds in the background as well. Must use stereo headphones for it to be effective, though!
